The Organists Charitable Trust

For nearly one hundred years the Organists Charitable Trust (formerly the Organists’ Benevolent League) has been carrying on the work of its founder Sir Frederick Bridge helping organists or their dependants through difficult times. Bridge was Organist of Westminster Abbey when, in 1909, he put forward the idea of a body to help organists “who had fallen on hard times”.  The first committee chaired by Bridge, included Sir George Martin, Sir Walter Parratt, Sir Walter Alcock, Tertius Noble and Sir Richard Terry.  The current President, Dr Martin Neary, chairs a committee of church musicians from all over the country, who…
