Martin Schmeding   Max Reger's chorale fantasias were last published by Edition Peters in 1977, in an edition by Christoph Albrecht. To mark the 2023 Reger anniversary year, Peters have published a new Urtext edition, edited by Martin Schmeding.  Schmeding comments 'Albrecht's edition reflected the current state of research at the time, based on the first printed editions.
