'Culture in quarantine' - was BBC Director-General, Tony Hall's phrase for it this week - with the closure of concert halls and academies, the cancellation of recitals and events and self-isolation forcing people to try and find online solutions to keep music alive, and to maintain their livelihoods as performers and teachers. For us in particular, the announcement that public religious services are to end for the foreseeable future also means an end to that weekly routine of preparation, practice and performance that forms the structure of many organists' lives. …
