To engage the younger generation with the Netherlands' rich cultural heritage of pipe organs, Lydia Vroegindeweij founded Orgelkids, a pipe organ education and outreach organisation, in 2009.   However, her project really gained traction when she teamed up with retired organ builder Wim Janssen in October 2012.  Retired from working as a professional organ builder at Verschueren Orgelbouw, he had the time, and space, to come up with new ideas and try them out.
