In 2020, the RCO invited entries of previously unpublished and unperformed compositions for organ solo (or organ and one instrument or voice) in a composition competition.  The jury was chaired by Gerard Brooks, the RCO President, who was joined by Judith Weir CBE, Master of the Queen's Music, and Thomas Trotter, international concert organist and Organist of Birmingham Town Hall.  Over 60 entries were received.  Winner in the 25 years and over category was Paul Trepte, a former Director of Music at Ely Cathedral, with Who alone is good, for tenor solo and organ, a setting of words by St…
