As the COVID-19 pandemic led to the cancelling of almost all of the RCO's face-to-face classes in the Spring of 2020, a series of live webinars, covering questions from the written papers for RCO Diploma examinations, was set up to maintain teaching online. The first set of webinars covered the Bach Chorale question of the CRCO examination written paper. Below are recordings to watch of the three webinars in the series. Note that these are unedited recordings of a live event.
In the first Frederick Stocken discusses adding figured bass to a passage of music, and the use of harmonic decoration. The second webinar provides revision on the first, and then goes on to cover completing alto and tenor parts in a Bach chorale, according to a given figured bass. The final webinar discusses the completion of the final cadence in a Bach chorale.
The classes provide essential tuition for those entered for the CRCO examination in the near future, as well as being of general interest.
