Matthew Martin discusses the practicalities of performance of the French Classical Repertoire - from registration and articulation, to the fingering for ornamentation and the application of inègale.
This film follows a 45 minute masterclass which took place at the organ of the Royal Hospital School, Holbrook, in Suffolk. Matthew provides a relaxed and illuminating commentary on how to create a convincing performance of this music, and adapt it to the building and the instrument, with the help of the three masterclass students.
