Conductor Nicholas Cleobury gives an introduction to preparing one of Bach's best known cantatas, Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme, BWV 140, for performance with an orchestra.  He discusses how to approach the work, including dynamics and bowing in the strings, and vocal phrasing and delivery.  A download of his discussion notes is also available.
